Obtaining High Quality Scans

There are many ways to improve the quality of a scan.

1.  Optimize the area where you will be scanning.

Flat surface:  Ensure that the document(s) are on a flat surface.

Lighting:  The room should be well-lit for best results.  Use the Flash on option if the area is too dark.

Background: Use a contrasting background color for optimal results. 

Example:  White paper should be placed on a dark background.

2.  Place the camera directly above the document.  Do not angle the camera.

3.   After capturing the image, use the Editing features of the app to adjust and enhance the scan quality.

Orientation and Size:   Rotate or Crop the image to achieve the appropriate size and orientation.

Color: Modify the color tones (photo, color, grayscale, b/w) to enhance the image.

Brightness and Contrast:  Adjust Brightness and Contrast using the sliding bars to achieve the optimal balance between the two.
